TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Hospice of Jefferson County is continuing its Memory Tree tradition.

The fundraiser gives folks an opportunity to honor loved ones living and dead while simultaneously decorating trees around the Hospice building.

For every donation made, light bulbs will be added to one of 8 trees. Green bulbs will represent the living, while white ones will signify those who have passed.

Bulbs can be purchased on Hospice’s website and at a Kiosk in the Salmon Run Mall. You can purchase the bulbs until December 14th.

“When we think of our loved ones, we think of the light that they spread throughout the world. That’s how we remember them as bright lights that lit up our lives,” said Kathy Arendt, Director of Marketing & Community Relations at the Hospice of Jefferson County.

A tree lighting ceremony will be held on December 14th at Hospice’s Gotham Street location.
