Athlete of the Week: Joey Raap

PHILADELPHIA, New York (WWNY) - This week, we honor a soccer goalkeeper from Indian River who has been a pillar of strength in the net. His outstanding career with the Warriors earns him this week’s title.

Joey Raap was a 5 year starter and 3 year captain of the Indian River Soccer Team. He recorded 760 career saves and posted a .894 save percentage.

The 6′5″ student athlete was a 2-time Frontier League 1st Team All-Star selection.

He helped the Warriors win games they had no business winning by shear will between the pipes.

An outstanding performer.
