Makenzie Piatt

Makenzie has been calling the north country "home" since June 2017.

She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and came to Watertown after graduating from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in May 2017.

In college, Makenzie was a reporter and anchor on the daily student-run show, 'Newswatch' on WOUB-TV in Athens, Ohio. She also served as president of the Radio Television Digital News Association on Ohio University's campus.

Makenzie serves on the board of directors for the Volunteer Transportation Center. She also hosts/emcees 5-10 events per year for different local non-profits. One of her favorite annual events is the Gouverneur Breast Cancer Fund Walk.

Makenzie loves Friday TV Dinner segments with Chef Chris Manning and holding kittens up for adoption from local shelters during morning interviews.

When she isn't in the news studio, she loves to travel, snow ski and spend time on the St. Lawrence River.

Makenzie loves the north country and would love to hear from you. You can email her at mpiatt@wwnytv.net or send a message to the 7 News This Morning Facebook page.
